Dog memorial portraits

A memorial portrait is a way to keep your dog with you: their face, their expression, the look you knew so well, made from a photo you already love. Any of our 44 designs can be made as a memorial portrait, with their name and, if you would like, their dates and a few words beneath it.

Made from the photo you have

Many memorial portraits start from a photo that is far from perfect: an old print, a phone picture snapped on a walk, the only one where they are looking at the camera. Send us the best one you have. We look at every photo carefully, and if it is too blurred or too dark to give a good likeness, we tell you honestly in your proof, before anything is printed. Nothing is printed until you are happy with it.

Their name, their dates, a few words

When you order, tick "This is a memorial portrait". You can then add their date of birth and the date they passed, and choose whether they appear as years, such as 2012 – 2024, or as full dates. You can also add a short inscription of up to 40 characters, such as "Forever loved" or "Always by our side".

Every one of these is optional. If you do not know their birthday, which is often the case for a dog who came to you from a rescue, leave it out. The portrait looks just as complete with their name alone.

We set the name, dates and words beneath the portrait ourselves, and show you exactly how they will look in your proof, so you can check every letter and number before it is printed.

Choosing a design

There is no right design for a memorial portrait. Some people choose something soft and quiet, like a watercolour or a pencil drawing on cream paper. Others choose the design that matches the dog they knew: bright and bold for a dog who was never still, or rich and classic for a dignified old friend. Choose the one that feels most like them.

Printed, framed and posted with care

Prints come in A5, A4 and A3, and framed prints in A4 and A3, in white, black, oak or vintage ivory. Every portrait is checked before it is sent, then printed, packed and posted by us in the UK, with UK delivery included. A digital download is also available, if you would like to print it yourself or share it with family.

For someone who has lost their dog

A memorial portrait can be a gentle way to show someone you remember their dog too. If you are ordering for a friend or a relative, someone close to them may be able to share a photo. We email the proof to you, so you can check it before anything is sent.
